Johannes Krieger's message is as clear as his madness: unless his insane demands are met, the entire East Coast of the United States will be reduced to a desolate wasteland of craters within craters, uninhabitable for centuries. The jackbooted reichmaster has mined Washington and the other capitals of the world with nuclear warheads. The U.S. government is his hostage. In his final play for power, Krieger holds all the cards except one- a maverick jack named Dan Track. Track stalks his vermin prey to the summit of the world's proudest symbol of democracy and freedom, the Capitol Dome. Only one man will walk away, and only one way of life will triumph. Dan Track will do what it takes to win. Whatever it takes!

The Phantom 8/10 January 26, 2019
The story arc comes to a conclusion with the Krieger villain, this time back in the United States for more nuke threat action. A good chunk of the story takes place near Chicago, some decent action there and the climax ends in the U.S. Capitol building. The final showdown between Track and Krieger was pretty good, and I kinda liked the strange but interesting tactic Track used to trick the crafty villain. A surprise along the way reveals an interesting plot development, and even the president of the U.S. gets into some of the action. As usual a lot of gun description detail sprinkled into the book on almost every page, but I was kind of used to that after a while. I thought this book was an improvement over the previous one and a decent cap to the whole story arc.Â
