Dan Track buried his sister ten years ago, after she and her scientist husband were incinerated in a car wreck in Chicago. Now a KGB agent is saying that Track's sister is alive and inside the Soviet Union. Can Track trust his informant? Or is he being lured into Russia for another, more deadly, purpose? Truth or trap, Track knows he has to go. This one's close to the heart.

The Phantom 9/10 February 8, 2019
A new story arc begins, making this book part one of a duology at the least. Here Ahern expands on his characters and their backgrounds to tell a more complex story involving Track, George, Disiree, and the return of the Baslovitch character from earlier in the series. The plot is woven together with many perspectives, a story best read in as few sittings as possible to keep everything at a good pace and the action fresh in your mind. Taking place back before the fall of the Soviet Union, the KGB figures prominently in this story. The action promises a conclusion in the USSR, but before that happens there is much going on before we get there, leaving that stage for the next book in the series. Lots of good action and dramatic scenes to make this book one of the best yet, I liked most of all the continuity that exists when one author has the writing control from book one like this. Good stuff.
