With the future of the U.S. space program in the balance, two orbiting space shuttles are preparing to deploy a valuable cargo high above the Earth. But a power-mad evil genius is planning an explosive episode that will bring U.S. space exploration to a brutal and disastrous end - unless the right man can be found to stop him. In a tale of high adventure on the new frontier, Dan Track once again battles an old enemy when he comes up hard against the leader of the crime syndicate known as D.E.A.T.H. This is the crisis everyone said couldn't happen. Now it has.

The Phantom 8/10 February 22, 2019
This volume deals with the Master's retaliation on Track and all his allies for thwarting his plans. Much of the book depicts these revenge scenes all over the globe as the Master seems to have spies everywhere and the means to harass or kill anyone anywhere that he pleases. Quite a few gauntlets to get through for Track and his friends, but eventually the Master's new plot for this middle book in the trilogy is revealed and now Track hatches a plan to deal with it. The final section of this story is excellent reading where Track is in space, dealing with yet another bomb threat, this time on a space shuttle in orbit. I loved this conclusion but one issue I had with this was I detected a plot-hole regarding the bomb itself. One moment a surprise return of a character from earlier in the series is working on the device, then the next it is aboard the shuttle in space. No idea how he was able to get it on there, maybe some part of the story was edited out? Seemed like something was missing there. Anyway besides that this was an enjoyable book, and looking forward to the impending showdown with the Master in the concluding volume.
