A German-Arab alliance prepares to inflict a bloodbath on Europe, unparalleled in the previous four decades. The terrorist arm of the organization plans to use nuclear warheads and nerve gas to lay the groundwork for the rise of the Fourth Reich. Determined to set the predators at one another's throats, Mack Bolan infiltrates the German ranks and becomes part of a war between rival arms dealers. But before he can defuse the threat of global destruction, Bolan has to confront a sadistic assassin who waits in the shadows, his sights set on the ultimate prize: the head of the Executioner.

I am very much in the minority here with this title but any way here goes. I loved this authors previous instalment and was so much looking forward to this title but was once again left disappointed with his work. I just can't see what is appealing in this guy's work sorry. A huge bunch of numbers on opposing sides set to attack each other. MASSIVE CASUALTIES, RIVERS OF BLOOD, BODIES STACKED UP, HEADS EXPLODING LIKE MELONS, BODIES BEING RIPPED APART BY AUTOFIRE, etc. etc. etc. If this is your thing and you enjoy reading stuff like this go for it you will no doubt enjoy this title. Me nah this is not why I love to read these titles I like a bit of substance to what I am reading not just a slaughter of all sides graphically told or not. Not for me up to you.

This book is not a great book but te last 70 odd pages make it worth it. One huge battle 3 sides then 4 sides - Mack is one side. A very pitched battle in the Algiers desert. One of the longest and coherent battle scenes I have read in this series - too often long battle scenes get a bit coherent. The french arms dealer was almost a duplicate of the NY drug dealer in 104 - both very annoying and snivelly. The german assassin Auxeldarth what a cool villian. Would have liked more scenes between him and Mack. Got to love a killer that revolts other killers - he likes licking blood from dead and dying along with injured like Jack's. As good as he is he lacked the brilliance of the Vulture - Day of the Vulture. A definate read! Solid 8. Downside - a bit too many arms dealers. Fantastic battle scene at the last 70 pages - heck if you lack time to read just read these last 70 pages.

A really good one from Schmidt. The book was enjoyable, and it's nice to see Grimaldi get into action once in a while. I like the new cover style for the series starting with this one, too bad it didn't last long.

This is the first Bolan book I have read, so I don't know much about the Executioner's world yet, but I do know good writing. Trojan Horse is a fast pace, fun read, with plenty of action. In fact the final show down last nearly 70 pages! The villians in this book were well developed and the reader was able to gain some insight into their motivations. This book was written in 1988, so some issues were a little dated (such as the dream of German Re-Unification), but Spearhead of the Revolution's plot could have been torn right from modern day headlines. Teuffel was an interesting charachter who I found myself rooting for at times during the story. He had potential to be an interesting re-accuring charachter. That is (spoiler) until Mack blew a whole in his chest. My only complaints about this book is that there was relatively little charachter development for Mack or Grimaldi. After 250 pages I really don't feel like I know too much about them as individuals. At times the dialogue from the Germans was too filled with American slang to be plausible. Despite these items, Trojan Horse is a worthwhile read. There were plenty of plot twists and double crosses to keep the reader off balance.

Pretty good novel. The action quotient in this one is high, as Bolan and Grimaldi play 3 sides against each other, leaving over 300 dead. The hit man after Bolan in this one is well-developed, but at times seemed almost a caricature. With a scarred face and a collection of the heads of his vanquished foes, he was a bit over-the-top. One disappointment was the lack of motivation for the arms dealers. The back jacket talks about them wanting to start the Fourth Reich, but it gets lost in the book. Even arms-dealing itself seems a ludicrous proposition in the Executioner's universe. Every novel that deals with arms dealers ends up with a double cross. Why anybody would choose that profession is a mystery. Good action scenes bring up the score on this one. Not the best plot, but certainly excellent action writing.

One of my favorites. Grimaldi kicks butt in this one too.

A good book with a good story and plenty of action. My only complaint-WHO THE HELL IS THE GUY ON THE COVER!

A really great book by Schmidt. The ending is a classic.
