The murder of an agent of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Burma marks the beginning of a deadly trail that leads back to the United States. The police and the FBI are outnumbered at every turn as the drug dealers flood the country with the most addictive illegal substance. In a crackdown against drugs, the President wants the flow of heroin stopped at its source. The man assigned to spearhead the mission is Nile Barrabas, ex-Special Forces colonel and mercenary extraordinaire. But he's up against more than just crime lords in their jungle strongholds: Chinese revolutionaries are muscling in on the drug trade, and he's haunted by a specter from Vietnam.

Another writer in what has become the revolving door of authors portion of the series. I thought this was the best book since #22, and was pleased that this writer was pretty good for a first effort. The plot is simple, take out a drug operation in Burma, but at least there is an interesting twist involved with one of the main villains. This is the smallest SOB crew yet in the series. O'toole and Hatton play minor roles, while the mission is carried out by Barrabas, Nanos, Hayes, and Billy Two. Excellent scenes with Nanos having a side mission, some decent action sprinkled throughout the book to keep things moving. The ending was brief, but better than I expected. Definitely a later book in the series worth the read.

Strange title here where at first I thought I wasn't going to like it at all but the finish is excellent and makes up for a lot of the slow going through the middle sections. This really is your bog standard drug cartel type story which the Big Guy has taken down so many times in his series and quite frankly with very few changes you could change the name of Nile Barrabas to the Big Guy and a couple of the SOB's to members of Stony Man and release this as a title within the other series easily. So yeah not a lot to say about this until the ending which was fast paced and has a nice twist where we find out that the CIA and the DEA are actually working against each other (imagine that?) and efforts are actually made to try and stop Barrabas and his team mid way through the assignment (lots of luck with that). One excellent character introduced here who was yet another Barrabas enemy in Vietnam and features in a few good scenes especially a knife scene fight at the end. Ended up a good read certainly better than the few recent titles in this series worth a read I reckon.
