Inheritors of the Klan, fueled by Nazi ideology, want their own "Aryan" homeland in the northwest United States. Having graduated from racketeering and murder to mass violence, the fanatics are prepared to use the atomic bomb in their possession. To back up their demands, they have targeted an American city for destruction. The FBI decides that the times call for desperate measures. Their answer is Colonel Nile Barrabas, an ex-Special Forces man backed by a commando squad that is tough and to-the-point in a firefight. With the fate of an entire city hanging in the balance, their orders are to "ask no questions and shoot to kill."

I don't know who this author of the month was in this series, but it sucks that he only had one entry in it. This is one of the best books I have read thus far. The writer seemed to have a good grasp of the series and the characters, and told a banger of a story. Some neo-nazi types are the villains, and they have captured a nuclear scientist, along with gathering the supplies needed for the device. The SOB's mission to rescue the scientist involves much more with the discovery of the bomb. The typical gathering of the SOBs takes place interestingly after the book opens with them on a mission already, only then not realizing these missions were in fact one and the same. The story develops with lots of action, but to my surprise there is a lot more here. Excellent story elements fill this book out, good heroes, nasty villains, with interesting backgrounds and character interactions. A lot takes place within only 220 pages, several locations as set pieces, and I loved the story of Barrabas going home in Wyoming for the last time, this section was one of my favorite parts of the book. The Hardy and Philipson novels were the golden age of this series, but I have to say that this volume is right up there with the best of them. Loved it, definitely worth the read. The question is, who the heck is Jim Mandeville?

Well if you read these books for the same reasons I do you will love this one. Why? Bad guys come in different forms and I would suggest after Mafia and Bikers the next in the most hated category is the Neo Nazi's and here we have them. Interestingly the plot here has been absolutely flogged to death in "OTHER" series we read but here in this series where the Nazi's have kidnapped a Nuclear scientist and have also obtained the necessary refined plutonium to make a dirty nuclear bomb has not been used to date in this series so no complaints from this reviewer. Excellent reading here folks heaps of action scenes and a high rate of excitement is maintained throughout until the end where the SOB's finally manage to come out on top. Sure lots of questions of how they could be allowed to do what they do with the different authorities involved (well it wouldn't happen) never mind we are actually reading fiction here aren't we? Loved it and certainly one to recommend for your reading pleasure.

If I remember correctly, I was quite surprised by this entry. It was quite tense and had a good amount of action. Much better than most of the later books.
