A Russian Mafiya conspiracy to sell stolen nukes to terrorists goes sour after Chinese pirates hijack the warheads and kick off a global game of nightmarish proportions. Mack Bolan enters the playing field stateside, where the Mafiya, the Triads and the CIA have all bought themselves into the action. But emerging shadow players and a mysterious hostage reveal that the final score is far from certain. As the heat intensifies in the South China Sea, the Executioner's mission to recover the nukes takes a sudden and disastrous turn.

Opening book of a trilogy is probably the hardest of the three as not only do you have to introduce a good plot and story also some good characters and somehow manage to have enough action scenes within the title to keep the readers interest. Can't agree with any of the previous reviews I thought this opening title of the trilogy to be quite boring to read and the plot did very little for me. I also found it hard to like the Triads story and the woman leading one of them a bit far fetched. Another nuke of the month story unfortunately and another two titles to get through I hope that they are better reads than this one.

It's nice to see a Bolan that's more properly paced for realism. Now, I don't have an actual problem with Wojtowicz style Bolans (in fact, I happen to like those a lot) but realism is nice to see once in a while. Hopefully, I'll be able to grab parts II and III soon.

Good start of an trilogy. Macks action scenes were solid stuff and without too much detailing. The other storylines were nice to read but some times throught this trilogy they did take attention away from Mack.

The book starts out very well with Mack doing what he does best (kicking butt). The mid point of the book is a little slow but the last couple chapters make up for it with Mack taking care of business. All in all a good start to the trilogy. A solid 8 stars.
