Hazardous deployment. Stony Man intelligence has picked up chatter about something bigger than any terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Now, it's zero hour and the agency has dispatched operatives on two fronts: Panama and the Mexican border, where Al-Qaeda is using drug pipelines willing to accommodate cash payers to funnel terrorists into the country. It's clear the operation has been in the planning stages for a long time, with moles deep inside the U.S. security net. Now, the only questions remaining are when and where the attack will take place. And how Stony Man is going to stop it.

Interesting entry with Phoenix Force acting like investigators instead of an invasion force, just like the old days of CIA liaisons, a mystery and safe houses. Able Team scrambles to cover all their bases. With a good story, and an effective mystery with surprise spies and double agents, both teams burn both ends of the pipeline with a nifty meeting in the middle.

Exciting entry, and another one of those ripped-from-the-headlines stories where Al Queda are teaming with drug smugglers to get into the United States. Able had an exciting shootout and chase on the highway, and it was nice to see Lyons using his trusty old Atchisson again. (He should use it more often). As Able tracks a cell of terrorists state-side, Phoenix is after the smugglers and the terrorist cell in Central America. The action was good all the way through, although, what cost it one star was Able Team barely being used in the gun battle at the end. Otherwise, very solid work from Guenther.
pretty good read 8/10 December 24, 2008
This one was pretty well done. There was a ton of exciting action througout the book, and all the action sequences were written pretty well. Both the Phoenix Force and Able Team arc of the story are well done. For the first time since I started reading this series, Able Team and Phoenix Force worked together on the final confrontation in the book, which might have been my favorite part. The only minor letdown of this book is the use of terroists as bad guys yet again, but overall it was a great read.
