Deadly kidnappings put the residents of Phoenix, Arizona, in a state of panic. The dangerous Sinaloa drug cartel has set up shop in the region. Determined to take over the nearby drug pipeline, they will stop at nothing to gain control- no matter how many people die along the way. With the city under siege and local law enforcement rendered powerless, Mack Bolan must find a way to stop the cartel's operation. The Executioner must conduct a spectacular blitz to destroy the crime ring and restore order in Sun City.

A solid 8 from me. This is the way an Executioner should be done. A solo mission, an American city, criminal cartels without a nuke in sight, a visit to the local police chief to get him onside. Add that to some great characters who are not unbelievable, along with car chases, shoot outs and parachute jumps and you have a great adventure. The only slight issue that I had was of Stony Man HQ muscling in on the action and getting kudos from the president afterwards. Otherwise a fine tale, and I even liked the cover.

Good read here vastly better than the author's previous offering. Set in Phoenix a Mexican drug cartel has decided it is time to take over the pipeline into the city and the more violent the better where drugs are only the start as a spate of kidnappings occur where even if the ransom is paid in full does not guarantee the release of the hostages. The Big Guy is on the case and somewhat unusually contacts the local authorities to inform them of his presence in the city and requests some elbow room to do his thing. Excellent action scenes ensue where he starts to demolish the Drug cartel resulting in the kidnapping of no less than the Governor and it is on. A HALO jump into the compound of the Drug lord to rescue said Governor and the action scenes involving same is fine reading. You could do worse than reading this one.

I enjoyed Guenther's most recent Bolan contribution and now look forward to reading his previous works. <SPOILER ALERT> "Recovery Force" was a great story that contained the normal amount of action and destruction, as well as a great deal of suspense as Bolan must save a high-ranking government official. This book was entertaining in light of the news surrounding drugs, Arizona, etc. The Sinaloa cartel is presented as an above the law organization that seemingly cannot and will not be touched by the authorities. Enter the Executioner. In true series fashion, Bolan comes in and does what no one else is able to do. With the city under siege and the governor gone missing, Bolan was again seeks out to destroy the efforts of relentless criminals. Great action scenes leading right up to and including the final battle!
