A rogue CIA agent is masterminding a plot to involve an angry America in a Southeast Asian conflict. He has produced a POW held by Communists for twenty years, and he's got the Chinese Mafia fanning the fires with bloody strikes along the Thai border. The situation is pushing a lot of people's buttons, and Mack Bolan knows unbridled rage can unleash all kinds of hell. Soldiers and civilians alike are gearing up and taking sides as war clouds loom, with the threat of a nuke-armed North Korea entering the game. Going undercover in Thailand, Bolan races against time to expose the renegade spook before the powder keg blows. Vietnam is a war the U.S. is trying to forget. Now the Executioner will make sure of it.

Bolan is left to fend for himself in Bangkok, as he infiltrates a group consisting of Triad gangsters and corrupt CIA officials. Bolan does a good job using his wits and and working without help to get through this mission. For a Fieldhouse novel, it was surprisingly low on action. A solid adventure though, with a decent plot and enough action and danger to keep the pages turning. A drawback to this book is how short it is. The adventure seemed to just get started and it was over. There isn’t much text on these pages. It’s almost like a couple chapters had been missing. At least the story did not have any obvious gaps in it. An enjoyable quick read here but nothing too special. Being set in an asian country, the expected hand to hand martial arts type fighting replaces some gun battles in this story. Mostly this is an undercover mission, if you like these, it’s a decent book, especially if you are looking for a really quick Bolan adventure.

This title is a reaasonable read. Whilst I found the plot unbelievable the book rolls along okay with good action scenes but just doesn't seem to reach out and grab you. Middle of the road title in the series and will pass the time if you are looking for something to read.

I thought this was a very good and fast paced story from Fieldhouse. The only real flaw i found was that threat of another Vietnam for the U.S was a bit overstated but it was a good read but just not up to his past stories.

This was a good book in general. The plot wasn´t a difficult one to figure out but the connection between the CIA and the Thai criminals was an interesting twist and added some flavor to the story. Carson Radke wasn´t the usual insane crimnal of the month but just a "normal" petty criminal with a personal plan to get rich along with few of his friends by adding some fuel to a long time war fire. All though the book still left several unanswered questions in the end, it was still a great entertainmaint as such without any brain twisting puzzle to figure out during the reading.

I was so lucky to find this particular book just a few days after Alice told me about it being a Fieldhouse Executioner book, and I was not disappointed. Fieldhouse really knows how to handle Asian cultures well, and his villains this time were an interesting combination of CIA and Thai criminals. Plus, we get to see Fieldhouse getting one of his heroes to play with the .357 Desert Eagle again! (I miss Gary having the .357 Eagle... it was good to see Mack totin' it.)

While not the best book from Fieldhouse, I gave it high marks anyway.
