Two naval officers are found dead in San Diego. Both had top-security clearances. Both were privy to highly sensitive information. Their deaths raise fears that someone is trying to compromise U.S. naval operations. Able Team is ordered undercover to defuse the threat to the huge Pacific naval base. But when Carl Lyons and his men confront an enemy from their past who has managed to put together a well-trained army in the California interior, the Team comes close to making its final run!

Why is this book called "Final Run" ? I really missed that explanation. For me this was just an average, nothing special adventure. A villain returns from Tower of Terror. There is an unlikely alliance between a cult run by this villain and some KGB goons. For some reason Able Team get involved in the case of documents being stolen. There are endless pages of waffle followed by a mediocre gunfight at the end. But the most import part of the story, Carl Lyons reuniting with his son, is just an after thought. A missed chance for some character building. So I was disappointed by the story.

Good book. Not a huge Able Team fan, but I'm going to try and pickup more when I can. Not much action but a good story that definitely kept me interested throughout. Great minor (or supporting) characters. One draw back was when (Spoiler Alert!) Lyons is falling off a cliff, then cliffhanger- and he randomly shows up later with no explanation as to how he survived! Editing I guess? Good author, good read, check it out!

Even though this one wasn't packed with action, it was still a very good read in the series. It explored how wacky religious cults warp their follwers' minds, and how corrupt those cults can be. We also got to see a more caring side to Lyons, and Able team in general. Though they can be blood thirsty avengers, they still do care passionately for the downtrodden. There are two action sequences: one in the middle of the story, and one in the end. Both scenes are well done and hard hitting. Only having two action scenes in an Able team book may seem a bit out of the box, but the story is so well written that it really didn't need anymore. The old enemy from the team's past was a nice suprise too. Great job by this author. I will definitely read more from him.

Umm? well I can't add any more than Monsta Mack on this title except to say DITTO ! This is a good read in the series.

This is my kinda stuff. Not a whole lot of action, but a good story from Renauld. The brainwashing tactics used by the freaks in this book are pretty accurate to what really happens in a lot of religious fanatic cults in this country. Not the best of Renaulds Able Team books, but well worth reading, if you like his stuff.

Once again, we have a decent story, but the non-existent action scenes. A waste for the return of an enemy from the Team's past.
