BROTHERS IN BLOOD Mack Bolan teams up with his brother Johnny to leave a blood trail of chaos accross two continents, uprooting a conspiracy involving the CIA and the Russian Mafia. Frozen out of Stony Man's intelligence circles, the Bolan brothers are on their own - and possibly at war with the people they call friends. The game of hide-and-seek with Russian crime boss Tolya Valerik has spanned a hemisphere, but time is running out and Bolan must lock and load on the key players. America has been sold out by those sworn to protect her in a blood contract for money and power. Taking down the conspirators is the Executioner's oath to his last breath - even if the enemy turns out to be someone he once trusted with his life.

Second title of the trilogy and more of the usual from Mike Newton. But alone the character Deckhard introduced makes this title worthy of a read. The book rolls along very nicely as per usual but the only thing we are really interested in is what is going on with Hal? Has Hal turned ? Well we have to read the final installment to find out apparently.

I only have this installment of the Conspiracy Trilogy, but the writer made it easy to catch up, and didn't slow the action down. I thought using Johnny Bolan was great, but would have liked to see them reminice more about their family. It was almost like they were written like partners, not brothers. The character Able Deckard was cool, hope he doesn't turn out to be a bad guy. Pretty decent action in this puppy!

Nothing really special came out of this second part. It was a basic Newton plot of Bolan and Co. having a list of places to hit, etc. More bits of Stony Man not giving Bolan any help.

If you haven't read my review of the first book in this trilogy, please do so before reading this... In my opinion Newton was forcing himself to make this a trilogy. There were more dull and slow moments in this book than in most of his others (and in my opinion Mike Newton is and always has been the true heir apparent of don Pendleton). The publishers should allow story lines to only have to take up 2 books instead of 3 (yes, I know that that is basically what a SuperBolan is for, but they don't all have to be trilogies). The ending of course left you ready to read the third installment.

Usually the second book in the Executioner trilogies, are the ones that slow down for me. Not so this time. Starts right up, and keeps going. Johnny and Able Deckard steal the show from Mack, but it doesn't detract from the story. They all make a good team. Excellent book that delivers!
