This book was pretty good. The main premise of the book seemed typical for most recent Bolan books I've read. The things that were good about it was how Bolan went in, tried to nab Saragossa, getting her cell phone and the info it contained, and his getting out of the area. Lots of great action! The only thing I found unrealistic was his run in with the cape buffalo's. A small caliber weapon, even up to its nape, probobly isn't enough to kill it. A minor point of inaccuracy, but even that isn't enough to disrail this awesome book! Especially the car chase towards the end, and Bolan's eventual extraction. I reccomend this book highly! Hello! I just finished "Carnage Code" earlier this week. I really liked this book, and was so happy to see that this book wrapped up the whole story within the book, and didn't wait until the last page to try and tie up a bunch of loose ends. I find it kind of ironic that where as the author uses Sudan as the base of this story, and also uses Ethiopia troops and rebels as bad guys in this story, or for cover for the real bad guys. If it was me, and I wanted to be more accurate to real world situations in that area of North Africa, I would have made the Ethiopians the quote, unquote "good guys", and the Sudanese "bad guys". But besides that, this book is pretty good, and is definently worth reading. All hail Bolan! 8 out of 10. Thanks! -
Hello! I just finished "Dragon's Den" last weekend, and overall, I found it to be a very good read. I really liked the idea of "Golden Dragon" err..a DEA agent funniling drugs into the US to present a target for Islamic terrorists to attack the Feds when they come to spring their trap. Very well thought out! The action was awesome, but what burned me up was the ending! It's like the author ran out out of room, and had to wrap up everything in 1 page! Arrgh! But besides that, I liked this book alot, especially Hal getting back out in the field with the female LASD Captain. Overall, it's worth reading, I give it an 8 out of 10. Thanks! -
Hello all! This was the first of the "Super Bolan" titles that I have read. I picked out this one at the book store because I thought from the pump up on the back of the book, it would be a fast paced book with a ton of action. Now, don't get me wrong, this was a good book, just not as good as some of the Executioner books I've read. It just seemed to me a little slow in places in the book. That said, it is still a great book, and worthy of reading. All in all, I would give it a 7. Thanks! -
This was my first "Executioner" book that I've read, and I really liked it alot! A week ago I finished Mack Bolan "War Drums", while it was o.k., it was also very slow reading if you know what I mean. This book, "Vigilante Run" was a 100 times better! More action, better wriiten, and a non stop page turner from start to finish! It only took me about 6 total hours to read! I am now hooked on "The Executioner" and have started on "Dragon's Den" and found it to be the same! If you want a non stop, well written page turner, look no further! Well done, keep up the good work! -
This was my first Stony Man book and I must say, I liked it alot! First, the descriptions of the scenes inside the sub when the Navy team entered to put out the fire. Then, the twist when everyone started keeling over in the triage tents and helecopters crashing everywhere! Very good writing! I liked Alan Philipson's Deathlands books, but I read this before I knew he was the author. All in all, i liked the Able team action, but the Phoenix force action in Georgia was just o.k. Isn't Georgia an independant country now? If that's true, why then are Russian Spetsnaz running around and not Georgian troops? Just small stuff like that bugged me, but really unimportant stuff. Great book!
